Jan 07, Cherry Coley rated it liked it Shelves: Unlike many autobiographies this book is entertaining from the beginning and keeps up the pace throughout the book. Brad tells the tale of starting his wild ride in life by setting a tower of rolls of toilet paper on fire in the bathroom in 3rd grade.
I love that he has a great story telling ability that is informative and humorous. I laughed a lot throughout this book. Living the wild life from high school through college, Brad enjoys the prestige that comes with being a baseball talent, making rich and famous connections, and uses his charm to get in good with the ladies, and his somewhat wild and reckless behavior to get him in some tight and interesting fixes along the way. Brad experienced many of the things most people dream about, but would not try for fear of getting caught.
He reminds me of Frank Abagnale Catch Me If You Can with the way he uses his charm and fast talking to get in and out of hair raising situations. His play boy demeanor gets keeps him in the lime light, and in hanging around multimillionaires.
The path led to Nike and the ultimate plan to begin a double life, creating dummy email accounts and gaining access to NikeElite. The tale that follows is intricate and brilliant at least until the secret service came calling.

It reminded me of some of the antics I pulled in my younger years, and I think that a lot of people can relate to some of the authors stories in one way or another.
I was very impressed with his writing style. It is very professional, but he ties it together to have a down-to-earth humor, and it's like you are having a con I wasn't sure

This is the story of some dumbass kid who used to play baseball. He played in high school, then he bounced around between umpteen college and minor league programs, including a stint at an HBCU, but Brad stephenson datebook dating had a hard time showing up on time and not high on weed.
And probably wasn't Brad stephenson datebook dating talented either. A couple of kids he went to school with became big time MLB players, and he ended up essentially broke and homeless in his mid 20s, Destined to go down in history as one of the best books ever written.
A of kids he went to school with became big time MLB players, and he ended up essentially broke and homeless in his mid 20s, living in their ridonkulous condos, going out to clubs, where he acted as a sort of groupie wrangler, and what have you.
That part is like a real life Entourage, but both and more amusing. Later, he gets kicked out of his baseball friend's house and moves in with the guy next door, who teaches him how to use a computer, in exchange for groupie love from some of the hoo-ers he picked up hanging out with his baseball friends.
And then he uses his new computer skills to rip off a website Nike has to give free merchandise to Brad stephenson datebook dating athletes -- his main claim to fame, to the extent that he has a claim to fame. At least until he becomes our first Brad stephenson datebook dating president. Jan 19, Stephen Fraser rated it really liked it. When I first saw this was a true story I had to google Brad Stephenson.
Since I typically follow what goes on in the world in regards to Hacking I was surprised to find I hadn't heard about him. The plays out in first person narrative and is very well done. The entire book is the story of how he turned what could have been a promising sports career into a life of a wanna be living off of his friends success. This results in his inevitable foray into a criminal enterprise. The book reads like and episode of entourage. His antics throughout the book are juvenile and self serving at best.
The writing is very good and the book moves along at a good pace. I enjoyed the book quite well. Personally though I find his unapologetic demeanor and arrogance comes off as if he feels like he was entitled to do what he did.
Over all this was a good book, I did find a few typos but it did not hurt the reading of the book. I am sure everyone would enjoy reading this book.

But Stephenson is telling a true story about what happened to him in the short life he has lived so far. He is bombastic but to do what he did, you needed to be.
