The number of datasets in my adapter grows from initially 4 while loading data. After new data has arrived getCount now returns 7positions 4 trough 6 are queried. Instead I would like to update the first 4 items immediately.

The cause of this behavior may be related to some animations I do with the items in the ListView. The animation is done in onPreDrawListener using View.

If I outcomment the line initiating the animation, the behavior is just like I Android listview getview not called dating. The following screenshot left shows what the list looks like in this undesired state. This operation is not trivial especially when the lisview has to frequently call getView when the list is. This removes the need to call any of the Java code shown above.
