Falling in love, and having the love requited with identical passion, is said to be the ultimate sign of discovering happiness in its truest form, that is, in the form of another human being to share your sorrows with. It is rather similar to falling down the staircase, this feeling. You are completely unaware that it is going to happen, and therefore, you are not prepared for it.
